What are Issues?

An Issue is a term used to cover anything that is currently having a negative impact on the project.

Project on Demand provides an Issue management solution that facilitates Issue identification, impact assessment, response planning and review management.

How should they be used?

The Issue management process within Project on Demand is as follows:

1 Identify and record the Issue. Create a new Issue.
2 Analyse Issue and perform any categorisation necessary to aid future analysis of Issues. Set the Category.
3 Perform an impact assessment to evaluate the Impact of the issue on the Project. Set the Impact.
4 Establish and implement an Issue Response Plan. Set the Response Plan.
5 Monitor Issue and perform periodic impact assessment reviews. Set Review Date and monitor Dashboard for any overdue Issue reviews.

Issue Properties

Name Description Possible Values
ID Unique Issue reference number. Number - Generated by the application.
Description Full description of the Issue. Text.
Identified By The person who identified the Issue. User with Project access or text.
Identified Date The date the Issue was identified. Autogenerated to date of creation but fully customisable.
Category Used to group Issues with shared characteristics. Business, Infrastructure, Operational, Schedule, Other, Technical, External, Security, Supplier, Budget, Quality, or Resource.
Impact The estimated impact upon the Project if the Issue should occur. (1) Very Low, (2) Low, (3) Medium, (4) High or (5) Very High.
Response Plan Detailed description of response to dealing with identified Issue. Text.
Owner The person who has been assigned ownership of the Issue. User with Project access or text.
Review Date The next scheduled review date. Autogenerated to date of creation but fully customisable.
Status The current state of the Issue. Open or Closed.
